Wedding dresses are sized differently than regular clothing, so it's not uncommon to find yourself requiring one or more sizes larger than your normal dress size, but ultimately the decision of what size to order is always yours. We would advise that you order size 10, and get the dress altered to fit your body. It is important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. How to read a size chart and select a dress size: Once you have your bust, waist, and hip measurements, please compare with the designer's size chart. Most dresses come in a standard hollow-to-hem measurement, based on the size of the dress which varies from designer to designer. If your dress skirt will be full, please measure out at an angle to allow for the fullness. Also take into consideration the fullness of your dress skirt. Please make sure you are wearing shoes with a similar heel height to those you will be wearing with your dress. Hollow to Hem: It is the frontal and vertical measurement from the bottom of your neck (indentation between your collar bones) to the floor. Hip Size: Take the tape horizontally around the widest part of your hip across the hip bone. Typically, it's an inch or so above your belly button and also known as the natural waistline. Waist Size: Take the tape horizontally around the smallest part of your waistline. You must wear a non padded bra when taking this measurement. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You should also wear shoes with heel height similar to what you plan on wearing with your dress.īust Size: Not your bra size! Take the tape horizontally around your back and bring it across your nipple line which is typically the fullest part of your bust (not under the bust). Your measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. To determine accurate measurements, don't measure over your clothing. Please do not attempt to take the measurements yourself. We always recommend having a professional seamstress that will alter your dress take all the measurements. Your measurements are taken to determine which size will provide the closest fit based on the designer's bridal dress size chart.
